Insight in what drives more senior workers, has positive impact on their employability. With this assumption, Antonia Wormer approached research agency Motivaction to cooperate on a research called Midlife Carreers. On the basis of quantitative online questionnaires and qualitative panel discussions, four types of 45+ employees could be distinguished. These led to tools and advice for (HR departments of) organizations and for 45+ employees in type of worker and specific HR-tools for each type. The Midlife Carreers approach has been applied within several organizations in the Energy sector as well as within other companies. On the basis of our research and findings, Midlife Careers was one of the inspirations in the policy development of the Ministry of Social Affairs and SER social and economic council.
