After having been nominated by an independent jury, the international magazine BUILD has named New Citizen Design winner in the categorie ‘best sustainable design firm’. The jury especially praises Blade Made: urban furniture and playgrounds designed from locally harvested windmill blades. The enormous stock of discarded windmill blades can be re-used for very high quality and low maintenance applications for urban citizens and children. New Citizen Design and Césare Peeren work towards spreading the concept of windmill blades as a resource for the design and construction of urban furniture (foot bridges, bus shelters, urban seating) and playgrounds.
